Civil Infrastructure Products Built to Last

Big River Group has manufactured structural timber and plywood products for Australian infrastructure since 1936. Our Grafton mill produces the engineered bridge decking, girder beams, and structural kerbing that councils and infrastructure contractors rely on to build and restore timber bridges, boardwalks, and marine structures across the country.

Our bridge products are engineered from Australian hardwood, stress-graded to F22 and F27, and manufactured under PEFC chain-of-custody certification (PEFC/21-31-174). These are not off-the-shelf products. Each is engineered to specific span, load, and durability requirements, backed by certificates of conformity and our in-house technical team.

Beyond bridge products, civil projects draw on our formwork range for concrete pours on road and rail infrastructure, anti-slip plywood for walkways and ramps, scaffold plank for access systems, and structural hardwood for retaining walls and marine applications. Our ArmourForm formply has been used on major civil works including the Legacy Way tunnel in Brisbane and Perth CityLink rail infrastructure.

With 22 locations nationally and crane truck delivery, we supply civil projects in metro and regional areas. Our technical team can advise on product selection, stress grading, and compliance with relevant Australian Standards.
