How to Choose the Right Lining Board
Start with the application. For wet areas - bathrooms, laundries and kitchens - Villaboard™ Lining is a heavy-duty fibre cement sheet purpose-built for moisture exposure behind tiles and wet-area fixtures.
For general-purpose internal walls, Duraliner® and Duralux® are flush-jointed fibre cement boards suited to a wide range of standard residential and light commercial applications where a smooth, paintable finish is required.
For feature walls, Intergroove® and Hardie™ Groove Lining give a vertical-joint (VJ) profile that replicates the look of tongue-and-groove timber panelling without timber's moisture and termite risk - suited to floor-to-ceiling feature walls or traditional half-height wainscoting.
For eaves and soffits, Hardie™ Flex Eaves Lining and Versilux™ Lining are designed for exterior-adjacent applications like alfresco ceilings, verandah soffits and eaves, where the sheet is exposed to weather-influenced humidity but not direct rainfall.
All fibre cement lining boards should be installed per the manufacturer's fixing and jointing specifications, with appropriate control joints at expected movement points.
