About Engineered Girder Beams
Engineered Girder Beams have a superior strength to weight ratio increasing live load capacities On structures being 25- 30% stronger and 22% lighter also extending the life of the structure. Engineered bridge beams are certified to replace F22 & F27 existing timbers of the same size as a direct replacement for girders, corbels and headstocks in timber bridges.
Engineered Girder Beams have been developed and designed to replace F22 and F27 round or sawn existing hardwoods. Being engineered means specification and performance are the same every time no variances compared to round timbers, a direct replacement for round logs that are becoming scarce. Engineered Girder Beams have a superior strength to weight ratio increasing live load capacities on structures being 25- 30% stronger and 22% lighter also extending the life of the structure.
Independent structural analysis of the Big River Structural Bridge Girders has been tested and detailed in the attached certification and concluding that they are structurally adequate to act as a direct replacement for the rounds used timbers in bridges as defined. The analysis was carried out using principles of structural mechanics, Australian Structural Timber code AS1720.1 and meeting the requirements of the National Construction Code of Australia.
