Thicknesses
Solid Tongue & Groove flooring is available in 12mm overlay and solid 19mm thicknesses. The 12mm overlay profile suits installation over an existing floor, while the 19mm solid profile can be fixed directly to bearers and joists. Check the downloadable tech sheets for all available thicknesses, as these can vary by species and supplier.

Timber species
All the solid timber flooring Big River offers is sustainably sourced. The range includes popular Australian hardwoods such as Blackbutt, Spotted Gum, Ironbark, Blue Gum and Tallowwood, plus many more. As a natural product, each species has its own colour range and grain character, so you can choose anything from light and subtle tones to rich, deep colours. Installation
Solid Tongue & Groove flooring can be secret-nailed or top-nailed, depending on the application. Secret nailing fixes through the tongue, leaving a clean surface with no visible nail heads, while top-nailing fixes through the face of the board. It can be installed directly over bearers and joists or laid over existing sheet timber floors.
